"For most of my life, I've been a caregiver, giving what I could to those who needed help. I was blessed to have a "permanent" job, a secure retirement. I survived the death of my best friend (for whom I was a live-in caregiver) just before the pandemic hit. I survived Ian, a cat 5 hurricane that displaced me from my home, but I was able to relocate to the opposite coast of Florida in Fort Lauderdale, where I met some wonderful people. Then came the news that my permanent job was no longer. It devastated me, and what was left of my credit, which I used to pay rent. Keeping a roof over my head was my sole priority, because at the age of 70, I could not survive homelessness. (I had been homeless before, but that was 50 years ago, in another place and time.) I was at the end of my proverbial rope. Then I heard of these wonderful angels who started A New Path In Life, an organization to help and give hope to people in my position and worse.
A New Path In Life has given me help, hope, and renewed my faith in the goodness of people. When you’ve been in pain and endured grief for so long, happiness can feel threatening. You've gotten used to expecting the worst and constantly being on high alert. Trust that there are people who care. Thank you."

"Before I found A New Path in Life, my world was gray. Every day was a struggle for the simplest things: a safe place to sleep, a warm meal, a kind word. Hope was a luxury I couldn't afford. The weight of despair was a constant, crushing burden.
From the moment I found A New Path In Life, everything changed. It was about the people. They didn't see a homeless person; they saw me. They saw a human being worthy of dignity and a second chance. They listened to my story, and instead of judgment, they offered compassion and a plan. A New Path in Life gave me back my future. They helped me find the resources I needed, the confidence I had lost, and the strength to rebuild. Today, I have a heart full of gratitude. They didn't just give me a new path; they helped me find my way back to life. I am forever thankful."

"I was always told "Get a government job; you'll be secure for life". Unfortunately, that is no longer true. I lost my secure government job this past year. My American dream had become a nightmare, if only I could sleep. The great people at A New Path In Life Inc have come along at the right time, just when all hope was just about gone. We are all one step away from homelessness. We are all one step or misfortune from losing hope. This is your reminder to embrace the truth that it’s safe to express gratitude. With each step toward healing, you can expand your capacity for happiness. You’re allowed to feel good without guilt. Thanks to A New Path In Life Inc., I can feel hope again."
